This may be your biggest growth opportunity, and would love to be part of the discovery process! Many empty nesters discover that much of their identity has been connected to raising children. I can tell you personally that this was absolutely the case for me. I was in full panic mode before my last child left the nest thinking to myself, what now?!?!?!
So please know, If your score falls here, you are not alone.
The good news is that purpose can be rediscovered and rebuilt with intention. Through coaching I have come out the other side, and I know you can too with a little guidance and dedicated time spent figuring out exactly what lights you up again.

There is room for deeper connection.
But don’t feel bad! For years so much of our conversation, connection and sense of belonging revolved around the kids. Now they have left and it can be really hard to find something new to talk about and focus on.
You have a solid foundation to build upon, but there may be opportunities to strengthen communication, reconnect with loved ones, expand your social circle, or create new relationships.
Let’s talk about it. I have lots of ideas for how to reignite the flame, reconnect with friends, ad make this part of your life feel vibrant and fulfilling again.

Connection deserves attention. THIS IS DOABLE, I PROMISE!
The empty nest transition can sometimes highlight feelings of loneliness, disconnection, or uncertainty in relationships.
For so many of us, every interaction was about logistics for the kids…pick-ups and drop-offs, back-to-school nights, games, plays, what is for dinner, college applications, and everything in between. It’s like we almost forgot what brought us together in the first place. Add in our phones and computers pulling us in different directions, and it becomes even harder to find your way back. It is so relatable, but it is also so fixable with a little intentionality.
Investing in connection can dramatically improve your emotional fulfillment, feelings of love and being loved, and overall well-being.
For now, every week, practice telling your romantic partner or a special friend 3 things you appreciate about them. It could be as simple as “I appreciated it when you brought my suitcase downstairs.” Literally, whatever! Just watch how these small acts of appreciation can shift the dynamic and open up the lines of communication.

Continue building habits that allow you to feel energized and confident.
As we age don’t forget about incorporating strength building into your routines for bone density and be sure you’re getting enough sleep!

But you know there is more you can do to fully optimize your health. And what a better time than now? The kids have left the house and it has likely afforded you more time to prioritize YOU!
While you may have some healthy routines in place, but there are likely opportunities to improve consistency, self-care, stress management, or physical activity.

In the meantime, create a three-tier goal list for yourself each week.
Gold Medal = the hardest goal to attain
Silver Medal = something challenging but realistic
Bronze Medal = super attainable
For example:
Gold Medal: Run 3 miles
Silver Medal: Run 1 mile
Bronze Medal: Get outside for a 10-minute walk
This can be done with nutrition, fitness, sleep, or any health goal.
Keep a journal. See which medal you earned each week and keep going. Most importantly, make sure that Bronze Medal is something you know you can accomplish!

Many parents spend years putting everyone else's needs first. The empty nest years provide a unique opportunity to prioritize your own health and wellness without guilt. But I know it is not that easy, after putting yourself and your health not he back burner, it’s difficult to get started again. I will be there for you during this journey back to health.
